In class we are learning to recognize number patterns. We have practiced writing by twos, counting aloud, and finding these number patterns in books. Structures of Art


This glog is an introduction to a fun, individual art project to be done in class. It introduces students to elements of art, each of which will be taught in further depth. It gives them an opportunity to analyze art and introduces their project. 

Standards met: Grade 6 Standard 2 Objective 1: Analyze and reflect on works of art by their elements and principles. Educational Technology Standard 5: Use technology tools (e.g., multimedia authoring, presentation, web tools, digital cameras, scanners) for individual and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom
Activities: 1)Using what they have learned students will paint whatever they want, and explain the elements of art within their own work. 2) Analyze 3D art in groups.

The Solar System

I have created a new presentation for you to learn more about the solar system! The image doesn't have labels, so you can practice! You need to know these by memory. You can click on the links to see the name of each planet and to visit a web page that will give you more information about each of them. You should be able to give a short physical description of each planet.
